Beyond the Rivers’ Bend
I ran out of the house tonight to catch the sun as it slipped beyond the rivers’ bend. There is something magical about sunset on the water. The play of light and colors change so quickly that I can begin to comprehend the passage of time as tangibly observable. I am compelled to stand still and breath in the moment.

I missed the last photo challenge “Resolved.” I was inspired by the post on Chittle Chattle, hoping to make a dent in getting organized. Unfortunately the flu sidelined me yet again.
I finally felt well enough to take a walk around the river yesterday. It was unseasonably warm and sunny. I snapped the photo above from my phone and am seeing it as metaphor for what I hope for this year.
The road is bending up hill toward the sunlight. Winter can be such a dark gloomy time. In contrast the promise of a new year is bright with possibilities. I’m looking for “illumination,” as via spiritual and intellectual insights to help guide me through what frequently seems like an arduous journey to change.
