LIght at the top of the road.
I missed the last photo challenge “Resolved.” I was inspired by the post on Chittle Chattle, hoping to make a dent in getting organized. Unfortunately the flu sidelined me yet again.
I finally felt well enough to take a walk around the river yesterday. It was unseasonably warm and sunny. I snapped the photo above from my phone and am seeing it as metaphor for what I hope for this year.
The road is bending up hill toward the sunlight. Winter can be such a dark gloomy time. In contrast the promise of a new year is bright with possibilities. I’m looking for “illumination,” as via spiritual and intellectual insights to help guide me through what frequently seems like an arduous journey to change.

About Babs
I'm a narrative sculptor navigating her way through the ever-changing currents in what feels like an art ocean. Whether appreciating the calm rhythm of calls for art and exhibiting, or waiting to catch a big wave of inspiration to take me to the top. I just love being in the water.
Formerly a pickle packer, theater major, crisis counselor and occupational therapist with a BA in Communications and a BS in Occupational Therapy, only to discover I've always been an artist.
My work grows from a strong connection to people and a passion for discovering the beauty in ordinary things. I sculpt figuratively in clay, utilizing the female form and women’s themes. Frequently my inspiration is drawn from childhood memories and my own short poems. Like each of us as humans every work is uniquely influenced by the past and present and has a narrative.
What a lovely promising picture this is. I hope 2013 brings you much joy, peace and good health. Thanks for the mention too.
Still hoping to attack that clutter. This is a way to keep me honest.
It was a job I kept putting off. I told myself that climbing over it was good exercise……
I’m sure you willsort it quickly once you start
Beautiful photo!
Thank You.
